PART 1: OFFICE OVERVIEW 1.1 Organizational Structure Office Organizational Structure as of 2019 1.2 Mandate Under the Ombudsman (Komesina o Sulufaiga) Act 2013 (the Act), the Ombudsman has a role:   to promote transparency, accountability and integrity in the administration and decision making of Ministries and organizations; and promote and protect the dignity of humankind enshrined in the Constitution, international human rights law, as the foundation of a fair, just and peaceful society. The Ombudsman is an Independent Officer of Parliament who may, on complaint or own initiative, investigate any administrative decision that affects a person in their personal capacity by a Ministry or an organization.
