HUMAN RIGHTS MODULE FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL Scenario In the year 2039, Planet A becomes unsuitable for human habitation because of extreme pollution and lack of food resources resulting from deforestation, water and air pollution, etc. As a result, the government has identified a planet – Planet B – which has similar characteristics to Planet A for human settlement. The government has built a spacecraft which is then handed to you to travel to Planet B. It has only sufficient fuel to reach Planet B. The government has asked you to transport several people to Planet B to continue their lives and to begin a new civilisation. Besides you and the pilot, the spacecraft can carry only eight (8) passengers. The government has given you a list of residents from which you have to select 8 passengers. Among the individuals in the government list below, who will you take from Planet A to help you to start a new life and civilisation on Planet B? Implementation steps Instructions for the students: 1. The students are divided into groups of 5 to 8. Each group chooses a leader. 2.
