Human rights are fundamental rights and freedoms that belong to every human being. These rights are stated in the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) adopted by the United Nations on 10 December 1948. vi. The UDHR declares that every human being is born equal in dignity and rights, regardless of race, religion, colour, gender and status. vii. Children’s rights are stated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). viii. There are 54 articles in the CRC. ix. Children are persons who are 18 years of age and below.
