This campaign aims to raise public awareness, especially young groups, with regards to resolving gross human rights violations in the past which will continue to burden Indonesia’s history. Campaign through the use of social media by taking advantage of the momentum of Anti-Enforced Disappearance Day which is celebrated on 30 August 2023. This campaign aims to encourage resolution of gross human rights violations without negating judicial solutions. C. Urging the Implementation of Peaceful Paths to Overcome Conflict and Violence in Papua The Commission continues to remind President Joko Widodo of his political commitment to resolving the Papua problems through dialogue and non-violence. Analysis by the Commission found that the conflicts and violence that occurred in Papua had diverse backgrounds. The Commission identified four issues that have triggered various conflicts and violence in Papua, as seen in the diagram below: Ideological issues involving political aspirations, independence issues involving pro-independence groups, TNI and Polri armed groups. Economic issues between citizens and corporations or between citizens and the governments or between the community itself in the context of access to economic resources. Political issues that are manifested through expressions of rejection or criticism from the public towards central government policies. Socio-cultural issues which originate from social problems and can occur between Papuans or with non-Papuans which has the potential for social conflict. Figure 2.3.
