around the challenges faced by women and men regarding harassment in educational
Institutions. Progress was shared on the joint study being conducted on Harassment at
Educational Institutions in Balochistan by UN Women and NCHR.
Member Balochistan spoke at the Women’s Political Forum organized by Shirkat Gah on
7th June 2022 at Gardenia Hotel, Quetta. The discussion focused on how to support
women in the upcoming local government election in Quetta and to ensure women’s
participation as contestants in this election.
Attended a stakeholders’ consultation held on 16th June by UN Women on Pro-Women
Legislations. The discussion centred around the challenges, gaps, and on devising a way
forward.
NCHR team participated in a consultation organized by UN Women Pakistan to develop a
Multi-Year Strategic Note 2023-27 on 16th June 2022. The aim of the consultation was to
design a strategy and plan for working with government departments, civil society
organisations, and the private sector for the protection and promotion of women rights.
Member Balochistan participated in a consultative session on 30th June 2022 with
stakeholders on “Exploring Changing Forms of Gender Issues in Urban Context of
Pakistan”
Member Balochistan represented NCHR in the first meeting of advisory group on women’s
access to justice on 25th July 2022.
Member Balochistan represented NCHR in an introductory meeting of Women’s Access to
Justice Advisory Group (A2J Advisory Group) of WAJIB.
Member Balochistan attended a stakeholder consultation to discuss women
empowerment strategies in Balochistan.
NCHR Balochistan and National Commission for Peace & Justice (NCPJ) organised a press
conference on the hazards of early marriage at Quetta Press Club.
Member Balochistan participated as a trainer in a training conducted by UN Women
UNODC of Rule of Law Delivery Unit on concepts related to integrating gender along with
an overview of pro-women laws, and international commitments.
NCHR’s team visited Citizens’ Assembly to discuss measures to combat gender-based
violence and how to work towards the empowerment of women in Balochistan.
Member Balochistan participated in a Consultation on Women Integration in the
Balochistan Water Resources Program (BWRP) in Agriculture, Livestock Value Chains, and
Forestry on 13th December at Serena Hotel, Quetta.
Aurat Foundation conducted three two-day trainings at NCHR Regional Office Quetta on
the access to gender-responsive, free, and expeditious legal awareness, counselling, and
aid, as well as to the available protection and referral mechanisms, in order to be able to
claim their rights. The trainings were attended by Legal Aid Stakeholders like CSO, CBOs,
Lawyers, staff of Ombudsperson office, Government Departments, and Dar-ul-Aman.
Participated in the first Balochistan Women Police Conference at IG Office Quetta.
