Section 2. Investigations
and Remedies:
Human Rights Abuses
1. Complaints received and handled
A. Statistics of complaints received
In 2016, a total of 8,167 complaints were received, which is 333 (3.9%) less compared to the
previous year. This can be attributed to a smaller number of complaints related to protective
facilities, which had been on a continuous rise until 2014 (440 less complaints than in 2015),
the police, military, other national institutions, and public service-related organizations over
complaints (29.4%) received compared to the previous year.
