B – Belief • Seeks meaning through religion or spirituality • Helps us make sense out of our experiences • Gives us something to lean on A – Affect • Rely upon the ability to express feelings and emotion • Share anxieties, fears, anger, sorrow, and grief, and have those emotions validated by other people • In that way, we won’t feel so alone with our feelings S – Social • Seek support and control through relationships • Increase connections and strengthen our sense of well-being through roles and responsibilities within a social context 22
