  Member Balochistan accompanied Rotarians from Rotary Club Quetta Cosmopolitan who presented gifts for children of SOS. Member Balochistan met with Chief Justice Balochistan High Court to discuss issue of juvenile prisoners in District Jail Quetta. NCHR committed to support implementation of the Juvenile Justice System Act, 2018 and speedy disposal of cases against juvenile prisoners. On the intervention of NCHR and the provision of free legal aid, eleven children were acquitted and released from Quetta Jail. WOMEN’S RIGHTS:          Meeting held with women leaders of prominent Networks of Civil Society working in Quetta. Discussion on ways and means of collaboration between NGO Networks and NCHR to address the present state of violence against women and girls. Meeting held on 11th January 2022 by Islahi Committee of Nasle-e-Nau Hazara, to pursue the Hidayat Ullah Khilji women harassment case. Member Balochistan met with Dr. Nasira Malik National Coordinator Human Resource Development Network (HRDN) to discuss the different civil society networks working under Women Lead Alliance Balochistan (WLAB) working for women’s rights. The meeting was held to find ways and means to connect such Networks to NCHR for protection and promotion of women’s rights in Balochistan. Member Balochistan represented NCHR in a consultation on 'Balochistan Gender Responsive Budgeting in Light of SDG5 and CEDAW Priorities & Proposals'. Attended a multi-stakeholder consultation on ‘Involving Communities in Access to Justice and Women Empowerment’ in Balochistan on 16th March 2022, organised by UNDP in Quetta. Member Balochistan briefed the participants about NCHR's vision, work, and priorities in Balochistan. Member Balochistan participated in a consultation held for Essential Services Package (ESP) provincial group formulation for gender-based violence survivors in Balochistan. The aim was to seek recommendations and inputs from stakeholders for improved access to essential and quality multi-sectoral services for women and girls who have experienced gender-based violence. Member Balochistan attended the quarterly meeting of the CEDAW Committee held on 31st May 2022, chaired by Secretary Women Development Department and jointly organized by Women Development Department and UN Women. Attended Referral & Coordination Meeting with Government Department & Stakeholders which was jointly organised by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) on 2nd June 2022 in Quetta. Suggestions were made to improve referral and coordination mechanisms to counter gender-based violence.
