The CRC staff also monitors inmates (only) in terms of washing and changing their clothes and underwear to ensure their physical cleanliness and this is not imposed on them. Work is not compulsory at the CRC, but it is a privilege granted to some categories of inmates based on compliance with the required rules of behavior and proper conduct inside the CRC. • Visitors: The Jericho CRC complies in an excellent manner with international standards for procedures for visits by families and friends of inmates periodically on a pre-agreed basis. • Infrastructure of inmates’ rooms and accommodation facilities: The Jericho CRC complies well with international standards for the infrastructure and facilities for inmates’ accommodation in terms of availability of sufficient artificial and natural lighting, windows and sanitation facilities equipped with adequate quantities of water that are maintained periodically and if and when needed. The CRC also has yards that are suitable for the inmates’ exposure to the sun. Also, the occupancy rates of accommodations places are 98.8%. In spite of this, the number of toilets is considered insufficient for inmates (one for every 8 inmates) and they are not suitable for the needs of persons with disabilities. The infrastructure is also incompatible for accommodating inmates with disabilities. • Service facilities: The Jericho CRC complies fairly well with international standards regarding the nature of the quality of service facilities located in it. The CRC has three vocational rehabilitation facilities (mosaic workshop, bakery, handicraft workshop), but they are not operational. There is also a library that contains 1,154 books, but there are no books specifically for people with disabilities and it is not compatible with the needs of people with disabilities. The infrastructure for service facilities is completely not equipped to meet the needs of persons with disabilities. The CRC has a clinic equipped with the necessary tools and equipment and a well-equipped kitchen for preparing meals.
