The Key note speech was given by Mr. Lionel Fernando; a noted civil servant in Sri
Lanka, a renowned diplomat and a former facilitator, in relation to the “the reconciliation
process in Sri Lanka in the current context”.
The Day was celebrated with the similar event throughout Sri Lanka directly organized
by the HRCSL Regional Offices. Similar events were organized in this connection in
each of the Regions.
2.7 Printing Materials
The HRCSL printed various documents on human rights to promote human rights among
the public. The following printed materials were distributed to all HRCSL regional
offices and made use of at the programmes conducted by the head office by distributing
them to the participants.

2.8 Media Programmes
In this year, the HRCSL participated for two media programmes. One was on 09.12.2014
on “Nugasevena live Programme” telecast by the Rupavahini Corporation in relation to
the International Human Rights Day 2014 and the HRCSL activities. The other one was
on 19.12.2014 on “Kantha Prabodaya Programme” which was telecasted by the Sri Lanka
Broadcasting Corporation in relation to the “Sexual Harassment in the Work Place”. This
programme was supported by the Ministry of Child Development & Women Affairs &
National Committee on Women.
