The NIHR also followed another statement issued by the head of the committee investigating electoral crimes, stating that the Public Prosecution received a report from the Directorate of Security in the Northern Province. The report was submitted by the son of one of the candidates and indicated that a small part of his father's campaign tent was set on fire by four suspects. The informant managed to apprehend one of them, who was found to be a 17-year-old child, as he attempted to flee the crime scene. The police also arrested another adult suspect near the scene of the incident. As a result, the Public Prosecution ordered the pretrial detention of the adult suspect pending further investigation and handed over the child to his legal guardian, taking the necessary precautions for his well-being. The child will be brought before the judicial authorities when requested. The Public Prosecution also issued warrants for the arrest of the fugitive suspects in preparation for their criminal trial. 15. The NIHR also observed, through social media platforms, a video clip that appeared to show a fire at one of the electoral headquarters of a candidate. Another video showed a deliberate fire targeting a number of election advertisements in a public street.
