 Member Balochistan attended a webinar meeting on “Gender-Based Violations during Disaster and Humanitarian Crisis” organized by PODA Alliance for Rural Women Leadership (PARWL) Pakistan. MINORITY RIGHTS:          Regional Office Quetta organised a dialogue with minority leaders of Balochistan to discuss minority issues, challenges, and their solutions on 13th June 2022. Minority leaders from the Sikh, Christian, and Hindu community participated. Different problems raised by minority leaders regarding education, registration of marriages, forced conversion, census of minorities, and security of minorities were thoroughly discussed. Member Balochistan had a meeting with Minister Minorities Balochistan on 14th June 2022. Meeting was held at the Minister’s Office in the Provincial Secretariat, Balochistan. Discussion was held on the concerns raised by minority Leaders in meeting called by NCHR Regional Office on 13th June. On National Day of Minorities in Pakistan, Member Balochistan called a meeting of the newly formed Religious Affairs Committee at NCHR Regional Office Quetta under the campaign “Addressing Uplift of Minorities in Balochistan”. The aim of the meeting was to discuss and finalise the points of agenda that would be taken up in the meeting with the Chief Secretary Balochistan. Different recommendations, proposals, and concerns raised by committee members were noted and included in the agenda. Member Balochistan was invited as the Chief Guest on the 4th Anniversary of Gurdwara Sari Singh Sahib. She participated in the anniversary event and had a meeting with different minority leaders at Gurdwara Office. Issues and challenges faced by minorities in Balochistan were thoroughly discussed. A session was held on “Follow up of Addressing Uplift of Minorities in Balochistan” organised by NCHR Balochistan and Peace and Justice Network Pakistan (PJN) at NCHR Regional Office to uplift and empower religious minorities in Balochistan. Member Balochistan participated as the Chief Guest in a Christmas Celebration organised by New Jerusalem Church. Pastor Sammar from New Jerusalem Church welcomed her. After Christmas cake cutting ceremony by Member Balochistan, gifts were presented to children. NCHR Balochistan celebrated Christmas in a Church in Basti Panchayat, one of the oldest settlements of minorities in Quetta, on 17th December. Cake and other gifts for children were presented by NCHR Balochistan. New Jerusalem Church of Essa Nagri and NCHR Balochistan celebrated Christmas on 18th December. Essa Nagri holds largest Christian population in Quetta. Cake and other gifts for children were presented by NCHR Balochistan as Christmas greetings. NCHR Balochistan celebrated Christmas in Church on 18 December at Killi Kotwal. Cake and other gifts for children were presented by NCHR Balochistan. 76
