In 1919, the first regular school for boys, Al-Hidayah Al-Khalifia, was established
in Muharraq. In addition, the first regular school for girls was established in
Muharraq in 1928 and was named Al-Hidayah Al-Khalifia School for Girls,
which was later called Khadija Al Kubra School.
