which was held during the period (23-24/11/2009) under the patronage of HRH Prince Raad Bin Zaid, Chief Chamberlain and President of the Higher Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities (HCAPD), in addition to the results of the questionnaires that were filled out, under the supervision of the team, by (737) persons with disabilities and representatives of civil society institutions working in this area, and the information, amounting to (483) violations, that was monitored and recorded by (122) participants representing civil society institutions. This is in addition to implementing four training workshops in cooperation with the National Center for Human Rights by the national team, which is responsible for the preparation of this report, on gathering information and monitoring mechanisms pertaining to the rights of this category of society according to international standards. The NCHR in Jordan monitors the extent to which the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is activated and applied in the Jordanian society by all concerned public, private, voluntary and semi-governmental organizations. This report covers all the information, figures, facts and data representing the findings of the national team, within the resources and time available, as well as the degree of response to the research tools used and the monitors. 5
