In particular, the Commission created detailed standards applicable to reporting sexual crime and hosted the Human Rights Report Contest based on the human rights report standards established in 2011. Consequently, the press has paid more attention to reports on human rights, and the standard to be used in such reports was established, both of which are great achievements. It has been ten years since the NHRCK started to produce films talking about human rights. The film “Juvenile Offender” in particular was praised for demonstrating the seriousness of the problem of youth offenders who fall outside the social safety net, and for demonstrating both cinematic quality and artistic value. D. Domestic and International Exchange and Cooperation The NHRCK, according to Article 19 Subparagraph 8 and Article 9 of the National Human Rights Commission Act, strives to protect and improve human rights through exchange and cooperation with domestic and foreign human rights bodies, people involved in protecting human rights and international and foreign organizations in charge of human rights. First, the Commission, in an attempt to learn about the locations where there is a need for the protection of human rights, continuously facilitated cooperative projects with Korean human rights organizations, and conducted onsite visits to listen to the voices of the people involved and to incorporate their voices into its work. Despite limited conditions, the Commission provided financial support in the amount of KRW 115 million for 15 projects, five of which were chosen as excellent projects. Making these contributions allowed them to help facilitating human rights-related projects in the private sector and spreading a human rights-friendly culture.
