CIVIL SOCIETY PARTNERSHIPS AND ENGAGEMENTS: WOMEN’S RIGHTS             Attended meeting on the emergent role of Dar-ul-Amaan’s and Crisis Centre as Women Protection Centres in Punjab. It was proposed in the meeting to convert crisis centres to Women Protection Centres. Meeting with Nighat Dad Executive Director of Digital Rights Foundation at Regional Office Lahore. The DRF team discussed various issues regarding cyber complaints, PECA Ordinance, and challenges with FIA. Possible interventions and collaborations were also highlighted and agreed upon by both the parties. Member Punjab had a meeting with Ms.Uzma Gillani, Advocate High Court and Legal Advisor Punjab Women Protection Authority. NCHR Punjab attended a consultative workshop on GBV Manual for Public Prosecutors in Punjab organised by UN Women. Discussion on developing GBV manual, challenges and key areas were highlighted in the consultative session for developing manual for public prosecutors dealing with gender-based issues. Consultative meeting with Mumkin Alliance Members, media, academia around genderbased violence, child rights, local government. Attended a meeting of Provincial Advocacy Forum on Girls Right to Secondary Education arranged by AWAZ-CDS. Organised a dialogue on Home Based Workers and Domestic Workers Act 2019 in collaboration with Home Net Pakistan. Attended divisional dialogue with government institutions for effective implementation mechanisms for Punjab Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2010 organised by Ombudsperson Punjab & UN Women. Regional Office Punjab, in collaboration with Musawi, arranged a provincial dialogue on Women’s Marriage Rights in Punjab. Regional Office Punjab in collaboration with Ombudsperson Punjab and Legal Aid Society (LAS) organised a stakeholder meeting on women’s right to property in Punjab. Member Punjab attended a Symposium on Women’s Marriage Rights in Pakistan, as a panellist and keynote speaker, organised by Musawi at Universal College of Law Lahore. NCHR and Musawi jointly organised a Provincial Conference on Women Marriage Rights. A diagnostic study on Nikkahnamas from a pilot district study conducted by NCHR and Musawi was presented to the participants including judges, key government officials, MPAs, and representatives of CSOs.
