Member Minority represented NCHR at a conference on “Religious Diversity and Inclusion
in Pakistan”, organised by FoRB.
Member Minority attended a meeting with Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan and
brought different issues of minorities into his notice – especially illegal occupation on
properties belonging to minority community and forced conversions of underage girls.
Visited the Sri Guru Singh Sabha and had a meeting with Chairman Sikh Community
Balochistan, Mr. Jasbeer on the issues faced by the Sikh community in Balochistan.
Visited the Shri Valmiki Mandir Quetta, and had a meeting with Pandit Rakesh Mohin on
the issues and problems of the Hindu community in Balochistan.
Member Minority along with Member Balochistan visited the Urban Cohesion Hub, Quetta
to join Citizen Assembly for 16 days of human rights activism.
Visited St. Mary's Church Quetta and had a meeting with Vicar Rev Fayyaz Younas on the
multifarious issues faced by Christian community in Balochistan.
Attended the Religious Freedom Christmas meeting and dinner hosted by IMFR.
RIGHTS OF MARGINALISED GROUPS (TRANSGENDER)
Represented NCHR at the International Transgender Day of Visibility at Islamabad Press
Club.
Meeting with transgender persons from minority communities, to discuss the issue of nonprovision of medical services to transgender persons.
Meeting with ICT Police focal person for transgender community, regarding different issues
faced by the transgender community in Islamabad.
Represented NCHR at a transgender awareness seminar organised by Wajood.
Meeting with CEO Digital Essential Pakistan to explore avenues to provide technical skills to
transgender persons.
Meeting with Sindh Police focal person on violence against transgender persons, Shazadi
Rai at NCHR Head Office, to discuss the overall issues of transgender persons from the
minority communities of Sindh.
Meeting with the Hospital Director PIMS, Dr. Khalid Masud to discuss the issue of nonavailability of separate rooms for transgender patients. After the NCHR visit, Dr. Naveed,
Director PIMS, apprised the Member Minority through letter NO. F6-1/2022(D1) PIMS-HI,
that Rooms No. 6, 7, 8 and 9 are reserved in the private ward of PIMS Hospital for
transgender patients.
Meeting with Executive Director Polyclinic hospital Dr. Iftekhar Naru regarding the provision
of treatment to transgender patients.
Visited Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad and had a meeting with ED, Dr. Isfaq Ahmed
regarding the provision of treatment for transgender patients.
Inspected the Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi. As a result of the visit, the hospital reserved
two rooms for transgender patients.
