Political Parties and Potential Candidates Political Parties and potential candidates can take special measures in the following aspects to ensure human rights of citizens during elections: Election Stage Effective Measures Pre Election Period  To ensure tolerant and peaceful environment in all phases of public relation activities for gaining trust and confidence of public.  Demonstrate highest tolerance and patience in talks, conducts and programmes of a potential candidate and his/her supporters.  Working in concert with the ethnic, religious and other backward communities living in the constituencies especially: women, elderly and disabled voters to build confidence in the candidates and the voting process.  Effectively comply with the Rules of Conduct of Candidates in National Elections 2008.  Ensuring a peaceful environment conducive to voting for voters.  To give full support to all election officials and law enforcement agencies responsible for the preparation of a favorable environment for independent and self-motivated voting activities of voters.  To give full support to the ethnic, religious and other backward groups especially: women, disabled and elderly voters in exercise of free suffrage.  To provide necessary assistance to the local administration and law enforcement agencies in proper investigation and taking legal action if any incident of violation of human rights or violation of civil rights is occurred during election or any complaint is raised.  To exercise due responsibility in creating an atmosphere of tolerant and peaceful coexistence for all by trusting the public verdict and accepting the election results.  In case of any attempt to create any kind of violence or tense situation (by the defeated candidates or their followers) in the electoral area, to immediately take initiative to stop it in a peaceful manner and if necessary to provide assistance to the law and order forces.
