Implementation steps
Activity 1
1. The students are asked to cut out pictures of males and females and paste them on
separate manila cards according to gender.
2. The manila cards with the pictures on them are displayed by taping them on the
whiteboard/classroom wall.
3. Each student is given 2 pieces of label paper and asked to write a characteristic of
males on one piece and a characteristic of females on the other.
4. He/She then affixes the label paper on to the appropriate male/female pictures.
5. The teacher explains to the students about stereotyping the characteristics of males
and females. The students are asked to explain why this happens.
Activity 2
1. The students are asked to form groups according to their gender and to write the
characteristics of their gender on the mahjong paper provided.
2. The teacher asks them to compare the characteristics that each group has submitted
and to explain the reasons for the differences.

Question and Answer Session
1. Name the activity that has just been carried out.
2. Do you agree with the characteristics given to males and females?
3. Are the characteristics discussed today correct and accurate? Give reasons for your
response.
4. What are the effects of stereotyping?
5. What can you do if you come across a person who does not respect you or anyone
else just because he/she is different?
6. Based on the UDHR and CRC, what rights of the child have been violated in this
case?
Reflection:
The teacher provides further clarification on stereotyping and its effects on all human
beings and human dignity.
