Implementation steps
Activity 1
1. The teacher places the boxes in various locations in the classroom or hall. Each box
contains certain items.
2. Three (3) of the 4 boxes are filled with 3-4 pictures each while one box contains a
mirror:
a) Box 1 – pictures of successful people
b) Box 2 – pictures of children being bullied
c) Box 3 – pictures of children left unsupervised
d) Box 4 – a mirror
Activity 2
1. The teacher asks the students to line up and take turns approaching and looking into
boxes 1, 2 and 3.
2. The teacher asks the students to relate a story based on the pictures they see in each
box.
3. The teacher engages in a question and answer session with the students based on
the following questions:
i. What would be the result if what you saw in the pictures in boxes 2 and 3 happened
to a student?
ii. What would be the result if what you saw in the pictures in boxes 2 and 3 happened
to the successful person in box 1?
iii. What would the effects be if what you saw in the pictures in boxes 2 and 3
happened to you or any other individual? What suggestions would help you and
the other person or persons to overcome the situation?
4. The teacher narrates the success stories of the people in the pictures in box 1 and
summarises the negative effects shown in the pictures in boxes 2 and 3.
Activity 3
1. The teacher asks the students to look into box 4 which contains a mirror.
2. The students who have looked into box 4 are told to keep the content a secret from
those who have not had their turn yet.
3. The teacher then asks the students to look into the mirror with their classmates and try
to fit as many of their faces as they can in the mirror.
4. The teacher puts forward the question:

Why does the image in the mirror appear like that? (The images of the students
in front appear to be clearer and bigger while those of students at the back are
smaller.)
