HUMAN RIGHTS MODULE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL
Implementation steps
1. The students are divided into groups of 7 to 8.
2. Each group is given a twig.
3. The students are instructed to lift the twig up to waist level using the index finger only,
all at the same time.
4. The students are then instructed to place the twig on the floor collectively.
5. Steps 3 and 4 are repeated.

i. Did you face any difficulty in lifting the twig?
ii. Who became the leader giving instructions to the group?

iv. Why did you listen to that person’s instructions and not someone else’s?
v. Who in your opinion was qualified to give instructions in your group?
Conclusion
7. The teacher concludes the day’s lesson by stressing the rights of the child as well as
human rights learned from the lesson.
8. The teacher also needs to apply the values learned from the lesson.
9. The teacher can share additional information and specific facts concerning human
rights.
