53. A participant suggested that the Government provide incentives, including funding, to care centres which meet the required standard of services. 54. With regard to the domestic violence against older persons, it includes physiological and emotional abuse. Dr. Rahimah highlighted the difficulties in securing the accurate data on cases of domestic violence against older persons as the available data may not depict the real situation due to inability of older persons to access the authorities. Ms. Ranuga explained that if the victims are unable to lodge a report, a third party could do so, but they need to produce some tangible evidence. It was also highlighted that while physical abuses are visible and detectable by sight, psychological and emotional abuses require professional verification. 55.
