Introduction of senior citizen insurance scheme to cover the huge medical costs faced by older persons. 72. Restructuring of the health care system for better coordination, continuity and quality of care for older persons. At the same time, to have more highly trained family medicine specialists and allied health specialist such as nurses to deliver care to older persons. Advocacy and training 73. A need to create public awareness on the rights of older persons. By educating the public on their rights, this safeguard their rights and ultimately improve the quality of care in the care centres. 74. Establishment of operators or nursing homes’ associations to voice/ raise concerns and issues in providing care for older persons. Social media including YouTube could be used as a tool to create awareness and direct the attention of the public on the rights of older persons. 75. All caregivers and providers should be trained to detect any abuse against older persons and upon detection should immediately report the matter to the authority. 76.
