The purpose of human rights education is to promote awareness of human rights values and beliefs among the general public, foster mutual respect between classes and ethnic groups, and ultimately, achieve the goal of human rights protection. In Point 66 of the concluding observations on Taiwan’s Third National Report on the Two Covenants, the IRC recommended that the NHRC should take the lead in designing and introducing human rights education curricula at all educational levels. Furthermore, in Points 17 and 18 of the concluding observations on Taiwan’s Fourth National Report on CEDAW, the IRC recommended that all judiciary personnel should undergo human rights training. Therefore, human rights education is one of the most crucial tasks for the NHRC. Significance 2. 1) Working with the Executive Yuan, Examination Yuan, and Judicial Yuan to develop tailored yet systematic human rights education lesson plans, teaching materials, and teacher training programs. 2) Monitoring the execution of the National Human Rights Action Plan, based on which the Executive Yuan will establish a human rights education monitoring and evaluation system in accordance with the UN’s Human Rights Education Training Handbook; monitoring the implementation of the system based on Topic 1.4 of this plan. 3.
