Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed Full Time Member Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed is the Full-Time Member of National Human Rights Commission, appointed by the Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh with the pay and privilege of a Judge of High court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court on 22 September 2019. Dr. Kamal completed both SSC and HSC from Faujderhat Cadet College, Chittagong. He did LLB from University of Dhaka and MBA from Institute of Business Administration, IBA, University of Dhaka. He did degrees of Master of Science (M.Sc) from the UK and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) from New Zealand. He was Secretary to the Government in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and was the Member, Socio-Economic Infrastructure Division in Planning Commission, Ministry of Planning, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. He was a Professor of School of Business and Economics, North South University. Dr. Ahmed held the highly esteemed international position of a Board Member of Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board, South Korea (HQ), for the first time from Bangladesh and successfully represented 45 LDC countries in regard to their climate vulnerabilities and GCF support. He was the Chairman of Bangladesh Joint Boundary Working Group (JBWG) and had tough negotiations with Indian counterpart. That ultimately led to the formulation of a Protocol on historical LBA (Mujib-Indira Chukti) and execution of an epoch-making pacific settlement of land boundary disputes between Bangladesh and India. He discharged mentionable contributions in the attainment of Human Rights through maintenance of law and order; formulation of international documents; execution of successful negotiations, especially in the field of human trafficking, drug trafficking, money laundering and terrorist financing etc. Dr. Ahmed renders his service on request as a resource person in various educational and training institutions of national acclaim; just to name few of such as, North South University, BRAC University, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC), Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy, Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), National Defence College (NDC) etc. He is a committed researcher and author, has to his credit publication of well revered books, and articles in internationally reputed journals. He is married to Mrs. Parveen Akhter an Economics graduate (MSS) from Dhaka University and a Development Administration (MDA) scholar from Australian National University; presently, Director General (Grade-1), Directorate of Women Affairs, Ministry of Women Affairs. They are blessed with a daughter, now a student of Journalism in Massey University, New Zealand. 42
