Besides, various other events such as Panel discussions and Interaction with the Media,
Human Rights Film show and Award for best HRs Short Film, Silver Jubilee Foundation Day
Function, Human Rights Mela and Street Theatre Festival, Human Rights Walk, Online Human
Rights Pledge, Tagline/Slogan Writing Competition, Logo designing competition, Painting
Competition, Documentary film on NHRC, Fourth Short Films Award Scheme, 2018, publishing
of Annual Hindi and English Journals were organized by the Commission to commemorate its
Silver Jubilee Foundation, 2018 and the same are enumerated in Chapter - 3.
Commission Meetings
2.13 During the year under review, the Full Commission took up around 198 cases of human rights
violations in its 13 sittings. In addition, two Division Benches considered in total 595 cases in 33
sittings.
NHRC Camp Sittings
2.14 The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has been organising Camp sittings in different
States in order to expedite disposal of pending complaints and sensitize the State functionaries
on the issue of human rights. During the period under review, the Commission held Camp
Sittings in Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka and West Bengal.The Commission considered
40 cases in its sittings of Full Commission.
