In appropriate cases, this information is also shared electronically with Civil Society Organizations, Members of the thematic sub-committees of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka, Diplomatic Missions in Sri Lanka, International Human Rights Organizations, and Asia Pacific Regional National Human Rights Institutions. The Commission also uses the Asia Pacific Forum’s (APF) bulletin to disseminate its work to a wider audience in the region and globally. 5.5.1 Training for media A workshop on human rights based approaches to journalism was organized on 29 October 2018 by the Education and Special Programmes Division of the Commission in collaboration with the UNDP. Engagement with civil society The Commission, especially via the Regional Offices, engages closely with civil society. It views civil society as a great resource, which enriches the work of the Commission, while the Commission in turn contributes to the work of civil society on human rights. 83
