of life from the perspective of culture and education. 2. The rate of employment of persons with disabilities of both sexes is relatively low in Jordan. According to the Department of Statistics for the general census of population for the year 2004, the total number of female workers with disabilities was 566, compared to 4725 male workers, with a percentage of (10.5%). 3. If we examine the status of women with disabilities in the labor market, we will find that they face many challenges, including the challenge to prove their Presence and rights as women. The Arab Decade for Person with Disabilities 2004-2013, issued by the League of Arab States, devoted a special axis for women with disabilities, where it indicated the activation of their role by participating in women's unions and organizations to enable them to claim their rights as stipulated by national and Arab laws and legislations, and stressed the need for habilitation to achieve the highest level of independence and performance. 4. According to numerical indicators mentioned above, we find that for the marital status in the Kingdom in respect of persons with disabilities the number of married males is 11771, compared to 3452 married female, i.e. (23%). This is largely due to the culture of shame, or reluctance by males to marry females with disabilities because of fear of their inability to bear the burden of marriage or have children with disabilities.
