Most loans are provided for small food enterprises, but often the owners also provide their food on credit so cannot make sufficient income to repay any debts. Many household earners commute to Quezon City on a weekly basis to earn gainful employment, but cannot afford to do so each day as the cost is in excess of PHP300 per day, with travel taking two hours each way. Many residents are also concerned that if the NHA discovers that they are leaving their residences during the week they will be evicted and have to search again for alternative accommodation.
