7.6 Sign language dictionary The first ever Maldivian Sign Language Dictionary was released on 28 October 2009. The dictionary released at a function held at Jamaluddin School contains signs for around 650 words supported with English and Dhivehi description explaining the hand-shape and the movement to be used while signing a particular word.
