Despite growing threats and challenges, the APF is steadfast in its commitment to making human rights a reality for all people in our region. A POWERFUL VOICE FOR JUSTICE Since August 2017, around 700,000 Rohingya refugees have fled Myanmar in search of safety and protection in Bangladesh. The National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh has made regular visits to the refugee camps of Cox’s Bazaar to record the testimonies of refugees and to monitor conditions in the camps. The Commission has been a powerful voice calling for justice for Rohingya refugees, especially those women and girls who have experienced sexual violence. ANNUAL REPORT 2017–18 5
