Annual Report 2016 Experience Sharing Visit to National Human Rights Commission, India An Experience Sharing Visit was designed for the NHRC, Bangladesh delegation to NHRC, India to make them informed of the latest development and technological heightening of the NHRC, India and the services at the regional level with a view of enabling the delegation to better understand and compare and consider the overall situation so that necessary innovations and paradigm shifts can be adopted within NHRCB. The delegation visited NHRC, India on 20-24 November 2016. The delegation comprised of Md. NHRC Officers attended APF Communications Network Workshop NHRC Officers participated in the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) of National Human Rights Institutions Communications Network Workshop; held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 26-28 April 2016. Mr. Kazi Arfan Ashik, Deputy Director and Ms. Farhana Syead, Public Relations Officer, NHRC participated the workshop that focused on sharing examples of good practices, developing strategies that respond to challenging media and communication scenarios specific to NHRIs. 25 Workshop on Promoting and protecting human rights in relation to sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics (SOGISC) On October Asia Pacific Forum in close collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme Bangkok Regional Hub (UNDP BRH) organized a workshop on Promoting and protecting human rights in relation to sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics (SOGISC) in Sri Lanka. The overall aim was to promote and protect human rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people in each country. Upon completion of 4 week online component, NHRCB officers M. Rabiul Islam, Senior Assistant Director and Azahar Hossain, Assistant Director attended the workshop. The course was highly collaborative and encouraged participants to contribute real-life scenarios, stories and examples on SOGISC issues for the collective learning of their colleagues.
