In addition, the Employees Social Security Act 1969, a social insurance scheme for workers, covers job-related injuries, job related disabilities, workplace accidents and occupational diseases and illness. It offers employment injury insurance scheme and invalidity pension scheme. The funds are raised from employer and employee contributions. f. In addition to the above mentioned laws for social security, the Armed Forces Fund Board Act 1973 also provides benefits to armed forces personnel in active services such as contribution to retirement savings, death and disability benefits scheme, retiring and retired personnel benefits. g. Apart from the above-mentioned laws, there are several other related laws, including the Pension Adjustment Act 1980, and the Wills Act 1959. National Policies 27. Various national policies pertaining to older persons were put in place in Malaysia including the National Policy for Older Persons, Plan of Action for Older Persons, National Health Policy for Older Persons, National Housing Policy and National Budget for 2013 and 2014. a. National Policy for Older Persons 28. The National Policy and Plan of Action for Older Persons which were initially formulated in 1995 and 1998 respectively were reviewed and approved by the Government in 2011.
