been ignored, and not implemented.
f) Commission of Right to Information
The Commission has been established recently to implement the Right to Information Act (2016). This
Commission can facilitate access to medical and other records from public and private institutions. This is
relevant and important for obtaining relief and remedies for GBV connected to reproductive health and
rights. The Commission can also be an important resource for creating public awareness on the role and
responsibilities of these institutions in preventing impunity for GBV and in strengthening law enforcement.
The legislation and the functioning of the Commission can therefore create an environment of zero
tolerance for GBV, and so impact on the area of GBV and reproductive rights.
