Komnas HAM, Indonesia UNCRPD Written Contribution (PSBN) Mahatmiya for people with blindness and visual impairment are examples of the institutions that deliver rehabilitation services. Nevertheless, location-wise, they are not universally accessible. Today, there are just 19 vocational rehabilitation centers in Indonesia.36This number certainly needs to be increased in an equitable manner throughout the country. List of Issues 1. With respect to job application requirement that still cites “physically and mentally healthy”, what are the government’s actions to remove the requirement, which has been hindering people with disabilities to get a job, to be educated, and to hold public offices? 2. What actions are the government taking to prepare the facilities and infrastructure for workers with disabilities, including in terms of developing suitable recruitment pipeline based on the competencies of people with disabilities and the needs of employers? Article 29 Participation in Political and Public Life 57. Komnas HAMappreciates the General Elections Commission that, in carrying out its role as an electoral body, sets out regulations concerning people with disabilities. However, monitoring the implementation of those regulations are crucial. The Electoral Observers’ Team of the Human Rights Commission noted down several issues in the participation of people with disabilities in the 2019 elections. They are fundamental issues on data collection and information dissemination to people with disabilities as election participants.
