Still there is much to be done. There is a need for a more holistic approach and cooperative actions among agencies to multiply in order to combat human trafficking and its inner complexities. The successful programmes for ending trafficking must involve both countries of origin as well as transit and destination countries, for geniune international cooperation. From Bondage to Freedom - An Analysis of International Legal Regime on Human Trafficking covers the whole gamut of the problem of international human trafficking such as the dimension and magnitude of the problem, analysis of the conventions and protocols on human trafficking and the human rights framework required for combating it. Here I want to emphasize that human trafficking is the issue of human rights and should be dealt keeping this aspect in mind. We at the National Human Rights Commission are committed to working towards eliminating this scourge by way of direct action, research and advocacy. We hope that the Handbook would be a good reference material on the issue of trafficking from the point of view of both prevention and elimination. Dr. Justice Shivaraj V. Patil IV
