CHAPTER 1 Rights. The Seminar was successfully held from 3 to 4 November in Singapore. The Seminar explored the role of governments, businesses, trade unions and CSOs in promoting CSR, as well as possible elements of a regional strategy on CSR and Human Rights in ASEAN. Such a regional strategy would support the fulfilment of the aspirations of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, which calls for the building upon and deepening of the integration process to realise a rules-based, peopleoriented, people-centred ASEAN Community. ii) 6th Regional Meeting on Human Rights and Agribusiness in South East Asia The Regional Meeting which was held from 3-4 November in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah was a series of events organised by Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) in collaboration with the South East Asia National Human Rights Institutions Forum over the last five years, aimed at discussing and developing frameworks which can ensure that human rights obligations are binding on transnational and national agribusiness companies. For this year, the Regional Meeting was organised in collaboration with FPP, the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia and Jaringan Orang Asal Semalaya (JOAS). Some of the participants of the 6th Regional Meeting on Human Rights and Agribusiness in South East Asia which was held from 3-4 November in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah The Regional Meeting also examined the RSPO’s Jurisdictional Approach to palm oil certification, which the state of Sabah is pioneering. This innovative and promising approach will apply the RSPO standard to all producers in the state.
