The Framework Act on Treatment of Foreigners Residing in the Republic of Korea in 2007 stipulates that the state and local governments should make every effort to carry on education and public relations activities or take other necessary measures to prevent unreasonable discriminations against and protect the human rights of foreigners, marriage migrants, or their children residing in Korea. In addition, a master plan for policies on foreigners was formulated to ease discrimination against foreigners residing in Korea (para. 378-381).
