Part II ＞ Our Efforts and Transformation protesting and would-be fugitive East Germans under the East German regime was similar to the exercise of authoritarian rule that lasted for 38 years in Taiwan under martial law. Additionally, measures for transitional justice and human rights education including the gathering and disclosing of all records of the Ministry for State Security (1950–1990) of East Germany after German reunification under the Stasi Records Act (Das Stasi-Unterlagen-Gesetz, StUG) provided Taiwan with an example to follow. f. Participation in Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) Conference Taiwan and the US signed an MOU in 2015 to establish a Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF), aiming to demonstrate Taiwan’s advantages and expertise. Officials and experts from Asian-Pacific countries were also invited to the conference to further expand Taiwan’s international space. In 2021 we participated in two GCTF webinars. The first webinar on “Road to Parity: Women’s Participation in Public Life” was held in October by five countries, including Taiwan, the US, Japan, Australia, and Canada. The second one on “The Implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” was held in November by Taiwan, the US, Japan, Australia, and Israel. The GCTF Conference on Ending Gender-Based Violence in May 2022 was held by the Gender Equality Committee and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Executive Yuan together with six countries including the US, Japan, Australia, the UK, Canada, and Israel and the European Economic and Trade Office. We reported on the relevant laws and regulations for preventing gender-based violence and their inadequacy, on issues of child and youth sexual assault, and the questions that concerned the IRC members of our national reports on international human rights. ▋ NHRC members visited French human rights ambassador Delphine Borione. 70 National Human Rights Commission 2022 Annual Report
