HUMAN RIGHTS MODULE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL

Ms Haniza
:
Najwa, haven’t I told you to put your handphone on silent mode or
to switch
it off in class.
Najwa
:
I am sorry, Teacher. I forgot. (Najwa wipes her tears.)
Ms Hazira
:
Don’t cry, Najwa. I am not angry.
Badli
:
Teacher, I don’t think Najwa is crying because you scolded her. It
is really because of this ... (points out something on his handphone
to the teacher)
Ms Hazira
:
Umm, how many times have you received such comments on
Instagram, Najwa?
Najwa
:
Err ... this is the third time, Teacher.
Ms Hazira
:
Why didn’t you report this to your parents or to me? Acts of shaming
people
with little or no power by using the social media
like this must be banned. This is one form of cyberbullying. Najwa,
don’t be sad any more. We will take action to deal with this. In
the meantime, class, let’s concentrate on how we are going to
celebrate Children’s Day which is around the corner.
Johan
:
That’s right, Teacher. We were so busy with the UPSR that we hadn’t
done much. November is fast approaching. We don’t have much
time left to make preparations ...
Laila
:
What are we waiting for? Let’s get going, everybody!
