HUMAN RIGHTS MODULE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL Implementation steps 1. Gather the students in an open space. Tell them they are to complete all the tasks they will be given. 2. In the first task, instruct all students to search for a ball with their eyes covered. 3. In the second task, bind the legs of the students and instruct them to move to the finishing line. 4. In the third task, instruct the students to pick up several sheets of coloured paper that have been crumpled into a ball using their mouths, while their hands are tied together, and to bring the paper to the finishing line. Discussion/Presentation 5. At the end of the activity, the teacher will provide the rationale for each of the above activities, among which are: i. Each of the activities carried out represents a weakness experienced by persons with disabilities (PWD), that is, blindness and physical handicap (hands/legs). The students must appreciate the difficulties and challenges that the PWD encounter in their daily lives. ii. Even though he/she may have weaknesses, each person has life goals that must be achieved. Every student must respect all human beings regardless of any existing differences. Conclusion 6. The teacher concludes the day’s lesson by stressing the rights of the child as well as human rights learned from the lesson. 7. The teacher needs to apply the values learned from the lesson. 8.
