Robbers raped intellectually disabled girl (`Suo moto 42/20) NHRC noticed in media that on 23 September 2020, 9 robbers raped an intellectually disabled girl in Khagrachari. Two cases have been filed on this incidence. NHRC sent letter to Public Security Division of Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure punishment for the perpetrators and inform NHRC about the actions taken. MOHA sent report to the Commission mentioning that 07 alleged perpetrators were being arrested and they were surrendered to the court. All of them confessed their crime in front of the court Police were trying to arrest other perpetrators. NHRC also instructed Superintendent of Police to arrest other perpetrators immediately and ensure security of the victim and her family. Father killed for demanding justice against the torture on disabled son (Suo moto 44/19) On 19 October 2019 The Bangladesh Protidin reported that a father was killed for demanding justice against the torture on his disabled son. Media reported that a farmer Moti Mia (55) was killed in Hobiganj by his opponent party for going to complaint against them. Officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Thana Md. Masuk Ali informed that conflict raised between two people on a very silly matter and as a result, Moti Mia got sick. He was declared dead after taking to the hospital. No 44 Complaint had been lodged on this case. NHRC instructed Ministry of Social welfare to take legal action and inform the Commission. The Ministry requested the Directorate of Social Welfare to take legal action. She could not move alone. In this situation, her sons kept her in cowhouse. She had been living in cowhouse since 3 years and had been leading inhumane life. Deputy Commissioner of Jhalokathi reported to NHRC that the local administration took Shorbanu to the hospital for treatment and gave her 5000 BDT.
