Annual Report 2016 The conference witnessed huge suggestions for the reformation of Criminal Justice Delivery System which can be summed up as follows inter aliaConducting law & order situation & Investigation should be done by separate police personnel or agencies. In case of any detention by LEA, there should be a six hourly review to ascertain justification of further detention Teaching the police department about the significance of evidence and mode of taking, analyzing and categorizing the collected evidence. In granting of remand prayer, judiciary should exercise its power and jurisdiction more sparingly Insertion of forensic science component in the legal curricula etc. Finally in the Closing Session, a Dhaka Declaration on Promotion of Human Rights Compliance in Criminal Justice Delivery was adopted. NHRC Chairman attends Sharing session on Research findings of Birth Registration as the Chief Guest Despite there is Government programme of 100% birth registration and though different initiatives have been made to make it successful, a big percentage of total population is not doing birth registration. But Why? To find out the causes, the members of the Ghashful Child Forum underwent a research and presented the findings in a sharing session held at BRAC Center Inn, Dhaka on Saturday, 20 August 2016. In his speech, Kazi Reazul Hoque, Chairman, NHRC highly appreciated the initiative taken by Ghasful Child Forum. He proclaimed that concerned authorities would deal with the findings of the research with due importance. He also welcomed the Ghashful Child Forum members to join with the Adolescent Club, where 5000 members work as gender promoters all over the country. NHRC Chairman attends National Mourning Day Discussion as the Chief Guest NHRC Chairman Kazi Reazul Hoque attended National Mourning Day Discussion as the Chief Guest at Eastern University on 15 August 2016. The event included presenting documentary on the Father of the Nation Banganadhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and a discussion session with the participation of some prominent professors and distinguished guests. Prof. Abu Sayeed, Former State Minister, Ministry of Information was the Chief Discussant of the program. NHRC Chairman attends Seminar organized by Centre for Disability in Development On 28 August 2016, NHRC Chairman Kazi Reazul Hoque attended a seminar organized by Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) to observe their 20 years of establishment. In his speech as the chief guest of the opening ceremony of the three daylong seminar NHRC Chairman said, disabled persons, specially the disable women were likely to be easy prey to sexual harassment at their work place. 21
