Extra-Judicial Killings, Enforced Disappearances, and Torture In the Philippines, one of the most recent problem relating to extrajudicial killing has been the controversy concerning the ethical standing of targeted killing. Extra-Judicial Killings also known as EJK, together with Enforced Disappearances (ED), and torture are no longer foreign. It is the CHR’s utmost duty to address this problem by bringing all EJK cases to court and ensuring all violators are made accountable and justice. From January to December 2020, the CHR tallied a total number of 173 EJK cases with 207 victims; 5 cases of EDs with five (5) victims; and 37 cases of torture with 54 victims.
