96. Special privileges for older persons, such as discounts, should be expanded. At the same time, older persons should strive to be proactive and independent, in order to minimise their need for government aid. 97. Establish support groups for care takers where they could share challenges, experiences and good practices more efficiently. 98. Social assistance should be distributed to all sectors of society including those in rural areas. The government should conduct more outreach programmes. CONCLUSION 99. The issues related to older persons need to be given appropriate attention. There are significant efforts and achievement by the Government in line with the National Policy for Older Persons and its National Plan of Action and other related policies. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of providing care services and support for older persons and caregivers such as in monitoring, enforcement and implementation of these policies and the available legal framework. 100. To ensure the improvement of quality of the care services and sufficient support for older persons and caregivers, the current ollaboration between the Government and other stakeholders such as private and non-governmental organisations should be intensified. It is hoped that all these efforts would enable Older Persons to age with dignity and live independently, where their rights are being upheld and all people regardless of age could enjoy the same rights as guaranteed by the Federal Constitution and Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
