Understanding the New Normal
Women with disabilities perceive the new normal to be the following:
Abiding by and ensuring that health protocols are strictly followed such
as wearing of masks, washing of hands, sanitizing with alcohol, practice
of social distancing, and other health protocols that the government will
be implementing;
Limited public transportation service;
Damage to the economy (closure of establishments, unemployment, etc.);
Consciousness about keeping oneself healthy as well as the family;
Work from home schemes;
Vigilance in the environment so as to not to get infected and not to infect
others; and,
Maximizing the use of technology for communicating and other services
(meetings, online classes, etc.)
