THE GEHWRC ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT 49 conducted a one-day “Preparatory Consultative Forum on the Philippines’ 3rd Universal Periodic Review” at the U.P. Microtel Hotel. This is complements endeavors of CHR as a National Human Rights Institution for the UPR. It also asssited various stakeholders in preparing and consolidating their submissions for the review. The Philippines underwen its 3rd periodic review in the 27th Session of the UPR Working Group in AprilMay 2017. CEDAW Draft General Recommendations 19 (1992): Accelerating Elimination of Gender-Based Violence Against Women” on 27-28 September 2016 at the University of the Philippines Hotel. The results of the consultation were included in the Commission’s independent comment to the pending draft GR 19 of the CEDAW Committee. The activity was funded by the European Council. It is part of the global initiative “Promotion and Protection of Women Migrant Workers’ Labour and Human Rights: Engaging with International, National Human Rights Mechanisms to Enhance Accountability”. The Program is being implemented by UN Women. This initiative has selected the Philippines as a pilot country, along with Mexico and Moldova. BUHAY AT BABAE POST-CEDAW REVIEW FORUM The GEWHRC and the Center for Migrant Advocacy conducted the “Post-CEDAW Review Forum to Strengthen Women Migrants Rights” on 09 September 2016. Participants in the forum were CSOs like the UNLAD Kabayan, Migrant Forum in Asia, SENTRO, Kanlungan Center, Banauar Ti La Union, ATIKHA, KAMPI, VERITE-SEA, Kabayan, and Scalabrini Migration Center. From the government, participants included representatives from the PCW, National Labor Rights Commission, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Commission for Filipinos Overseas, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and the DSWD. CONSULTATION ON CEDAW DRAFT GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS 19 The Commission on Human Rights in partnership with the WLB conducted the “Consultation on About 30 participants from different CSOs and government agencies attended the event. The CHR hosted the forum “Buhay at Babae: A Forum on Women’s Dignity and Democracy” on 05 October 2016 at the Bulwagang Ka Pepe of the CHR. This was an initiative of concerned women’s organizations and CSOs. The women’s groups invited Senator Leila de Lima to give her reflections on the role of Filipino women in enhancing human dignity and the rule of law. INTERFAITH FORUM ON THE COMPREHENSIVE ANTI-DISCRIMINATION BILL The Stop the Discrimination (STD) Coalition in partnership with the CHR and Micah Philippines, with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), held an “Interfaith Forum on the Comprehensive Anti-Discrimination Bill (CADB)” at the CHR Multi-purpose Hall on 24 November 2016. The forum provided an opportunity to deepen the appreciation of sectoral concerns, and share ideas on a comprehensive anti-discrimination law to address these. The STD presented its report on the consolidated sectoral issues on discrimination from their 2015 and 2016 regional multisectoral campaigns on the Comprehensive
