iii) To conduct Capacity Building Programmes The Commission underscores the importance of institutional commitment towards respecting human rights in business operations. On that basis, the Commission agrees, where applicable, to provide human rights trainings and briefings to officials of FGV and FELDA. The Commission is also mindful that the capacity building programmes may extend to other parties’ affiliations, including but not limited to, their supply chains and in the case of FELDA, the settlers. iv) Visit and Monitoring plantations The Commission emphasises the necessity for its team to undertake on-site visits and monitor activities to identify the gaps and to ensure adherence and compliance to human rights standards. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) within Human Rights Comission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM), Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (FGV) and the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA). Following the signing of the MoU, various meetings and discussions had been held among the Commission, FGV and FELDA to discuss the proposed action plan by FGV and FELDA and to review the current policies in place in ensuring their compliance and respect towards human rights principles.
