Recommendations Based on the findings of the Needs Assessment and Gap Analysis, the following general recommendations are made, to provide a clear pathway for addressing the identified gaps in NHRIs engagement with climate change and human rights issues. The recommendations are grouped under five themes that emerged out of the analysis, which focus on: (i) training and capacity development; (ii) technical tools and resources; (iii) internal policies and guidelines; (iv) stakeholder engagement; and (v) coordination with international mechanisms. The recommendations also identify possible timeframes, policy feasibility and impacts. A. Training and Capacity Development Recommendation 1: Develop and implement a training programme for NHRIs in the region on climate change, human rights and gender intersectionality, with a focus on mobility risks and considerations, targeted to frontline staff who are engaged in human rights monitoring, investigation and advocacy at all six NHRIs. Priority: High Feasibility: High Timeframe: Short-term (1 to 6 months) Partners can develop an online/hybrid learning course, which covers the knowledge, skills and technical guidelines to engage with the state in CCMA initiatives and effectively monitor their impacts and advice the government.
