India also promotes clean energy through policies like the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP),26 and several key policies related to Green Energy, and Energy Conservation. India’s Rehabilitation and Relocation of Persons Displaced due to Climate Change Act (2022)27 and Climate Migrants (Protection and Rehabilitation) Act (2022)28 are crucial legal instruments which indicates the commitment of the government to mitigate the effects of climate change. Key policies in the Maldives include the National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA) (2021-2025),29 which outlines immediate adaptation needs, and the Maldives Climate Change Policy Framework (CCPF 2015-2025),30 which focuses on achieving a climate-resilient and low-emission economy. The National Strategic Action Plan on Climate Change (NSAP) (20102020),31 which is the world’s first strategic national action plan integrating disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation,32 and Strategic Action Plan (2019-2023)33 also integrates climate resilience into national development, emphasising coastal protection, renewable energy, and sustainable tourism.
